Here is a teaser post with a few images from the wedding for Judy and Eric, who I had the peasure of working with this past weekend. What a blast, we were teasing and laughing the whole time. You guys were a joy to shoot with, and the weather really cooperated too. The bridal party was fun and willing to do whatever it took to get the shot, you guys are very lucky to have such good friends and family. I should have a gallery populated for you soon on my website.

October 20, 2009Edmonton Wedding Photographer Will Travel
September 1, 2009I am looking forward to the wedding coming up on Sept 11. I will be shooting in Banff, and I have not been to the mountains for about 10 years. I know. Rediculous. I was near the mountains a few years ago shooting a wedding by Abraham Lake, but I have not been to Jasper of Banff in ages. I will be sure to post some stunning images from that wedding for all to see. It’s funny, I always think of destination weddings being the ones in Mexico or other tropical location, and neglect the beauty in our own back yard.
Stephanie & Landon Wedding
August 16, 2009
I was out with Stephanie and Landon today, having a good time, and making some great images. I have a few to share with you tonight. I just uploaded everything and quickly grabbed a few teaser images to post on the blog. My favorite has to be the guys jumping off the bench though. While many of you will like the image, only a fellow photograher can truely appreciate the task at hand. I knew the sun was pretty bright and I had to try to compete with that kind of backlight, so I grabbed 3 of my portable strobes and set them to full power. I had them triggered via pocket wizard at the max synch speed I could get which was 1/500th of a second. This would stop the action, as well as provide me with an aperture that was still workable for the flashes. That happened to fall in at f11. Since I know that the flashes at full power will not recycle fast enough for me to ’spray and pray’, I had to wait untill the decisive moment before triggering the shutter. I directed Landon to grab at his jacket and tear it open, I asked Garret to jump and point, I even told Travis to jump and reach, but it was the killer improv of Dennis to do the kick that I really liked. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I did making it.

Engagement Photography Session
July 7, 2009Francis & Marianna Wedding Photography
June 29, 2009I think somewhere in the archives of this blog, I promised in a posting of their engagement, that I would be posting some wedding images here as soon as I could. Well the time is now, and I have a few really cool images to show you. I loved the great decor at Marianna’s mothers place, the red couches were a nice touch. I knew right away that they would provide a great prop for the bridesmaid portrait.

Then while doing the formals I was inspired by the brick walls. And no, this was not taken at night, this was 3pm in the afternoon. That is why you get a professional photographer, we can fake anything. ; )

And this has to be one of my favorites. I love how the veil is flowing in the wind, kind of reminds me of that underwater look.
Michelle & Ben’s Wedding
June 14, 2009Yesterday I was photographing a wedding for Ben & Michelle, and what a great day! The sun was shining, the bride was stunning, and the venue was totally great. I was working with a new assistant who did a brilliant job as well. Everything was terriffic, even the food. I tell you, all chicken balls should be like the ones they serve at the Lily Lake Resort. A huge chunk of chiken with a delicious sweet & sour coating, not the crappy flake of chicken gristle wadded into a big ball of dough like you get at every Chinese food place I’ve ever eaten. Alas, I digress from the wedding. Here are a few of the images from the day. A big thank you to Ben & Michelle for choosing me to make your memories permanent. I had a great time, you are a great couple, and I wish you both the best for the future. BTW, I do maternity stuff too, so maybe we’ll see you in a few months. *wink*

Upcoming wedding
February 23, 2009Cancun Photographer anyone?
January 28, 2009I will be jetting down to Mexico for a PPOC convention on Jan. 25, and in fact, by the time you read this, I will likely be there already. I hope to learn a few new tricks of the trade form some of the amazing workshops we will be having, and I also hope to get in a few photoshoots like the last time I was there. I was very fortunate to run into Kerry and Miranda on my last trip, both of whom were willing to model for some cool photographs on the beach. So I hope your week is good, because I know mine will be. I’ll fill you in on the details upon my return, and show you some of the images from the trip.
