I am looking forward to the wedding coming up on Sept 11. I will be shooting in Banff, and I have not been to the mountains for about 10 years. I know. Rediculous. I was near the mountains a few years ago shooting a wedding by Abraham Lake, but I have not been to Jasper of Banff in ages. I will be sure to post some stunning images from that wedding for all to see. It’s funny, I always think of destination weddings being the ones in Mexico or other tropical location, and neglect the beauty in our own back yard.

Edmonton Wedding Photographer Will Travel
September 1, 2009Metro Fire Chiefs Conference
June 23, 2009I had the opportunity to photograph the fire chiefs from cities all over North America tonight. Every year the chiefs meet in different cities and this year Edmonton was lucky enough to be the host. Our city did an excellent job and hosted the reception in city hall which provided a beautiful setting. I have attached a few of the images from tonight to show.

And a special thank yo uto the GTT team for your help, and for bringing me to the conference.

Model shoot
June 20, 2009Sometimes you just need to head out and have some fun as a photographer. I went out with a bunch of my pals from the PPOC to an event called GOYA, which is short for ‘get off yer ass’. It is bascally a time where we can all come together to shoot for fun and try out some new stuff in a no pressure environment. I decided to keep it simple and only brought 1 light and 2 lenses. Sometimes you just dont want to pack 40lbs of gear around with you. The lack of equipment didn’t deter me from trying out some cool techniques though. I was using a cross colour balance technique to get the ambient light to a really cool blue, along with a high speed synch to drop the early evening light level (which in June might as well be midday) way down to look like a late evening light level. Here are some of my faves from the shoot.
