Show of Force – Wrestling Photography

I was at the new Morinville Cultural Centre on Saturday night for the premiere of Show of Force, a wrestling company here in Edmonton. They needed some photography of the event to use for future promotion. I didn’t really know what to expect, since I have never shot Wrestling before, but lighting is lighting, and sports is timing, so I felt that I would be able to handle it without too much difficulty. I set up a perimeter triangle of lights, and also had an on camera flash for the fill. The lighting worked outs pretty well, and combined with the high calibre of the show itself, provided some really great moments to capture. Here ar some of my favorites from the night. Curtis & Gyn – Edmonton Wedding Photographer

I had a rather unique experience yesterday. I was shooting a wedding for a friend of mine who assists me at weddings sometimes. This made it all the more stressful when the weather went sour on us right after the ceremony. I want to be able to give him amazing photos from the formals, and it’s pouring rain and overcast. So being a self-professed expert of improvisation, I directed us to an indoor spot where we could still get some cool images, and fortunately, about an hour into the shoot, the weather broke, and it was gorgeous outside again. So we were able to make some great outdoor images as well. One of my favorites from the shoot was one that Curtis had asked me about earlier. He told me he really wanted to wanted to assist on one of the shots, so I came up with a way for him to assist, and be part of the shot.
What you can’t see in the shot of us doing this shot, is the other slave to the right behind the pillar providing some fill on Curtis’ face.

Scott and Crystal – Edmonton Wedding Photographer

I got a call less than 2 weeks ago from Crystal, asking me if I was available to shoot a wedding on the July 16th. Fortunately, I was actually available on such short notice, and was able to spend the day with Scott and Crystal, and their bridal party. We had a great time, and got some great images. Here is a sneak peek at a few of them. Dont forget to check out the gallery for all the images on my website, which will be ready on Tuesday. Congratulations you guys!

Well, aside from the fact that she is beautiful, funny, a talented singer, and a great personality, I’d like to think that the great headshots had something to do with her victory . Congratulations to Nakita on her win. Im sure that aside from the scholarship, the experience alone made it all worthwhile.

Kyle and Tracy – Edmonton Wedding Photographer

On Saturday I did a wedding for a great couple, Kyle and Tracy. We started out at Tracy’s sister’s house, and did some shooting while the girls got ready, then headed over to St. Josephats for the ceremony. Tracy looked amazing, and her dress was fantastic. But it had to be to top the fabulous dresses of the 5 bridesmaids. I know I should have asked, but I wonder who the designer was on those, I really liked how they were done. Kyle and Tracy were so relaxed all day, it was like nothing could phase them. I sure had the church itself fallen around them during the ceremony they would have walked out over the rubble hand in hand smiling. It was a pleasure to spend the day with them, and we got some great images too.

New Franchise Cap-it – Edmonton Professional Photographer

I was called to do a commercial shoot for a BC based company that has opened a new franchise here in Edmonton. Undoubtably you have heard of Cap-it, which provides hard top canopies for trucks, I know I have. But what I didn’t know was that they also have just about every kind of truck accessory you could want. The showroom has tons of amazing products, and the shop is totally sweet. These guys can do all kinds of installs, tires, lights, step rails, canopies, shocks, etc.
Definitely worth checking them out.

Edmonton wedding photographer – Testimonial

“My husband and I hired Trident photography to shoot our wedding this past June. Jeff and his assistant showed up early to scope out the venue as we had requested which earned bonus points in my books. From there everything went very smoothly. They both had a positive and energetic attitude which made the shoot very enjoyable and they didn’t mind our goofy attitudes. Jeff was very open to hear my suggestions and offer his opinion. Lily Lake Resort – Wedding Photography Edmonton

I spent the day with a great couple yesterday, Meagan & Darren, out at the Lily Lake Resort, where they celebrated their wedding. These two were great to work with, and so were the people in the bridal party. Meagan was a natural model, and was so comfortable in front of the camera. We got some really great images because she was such a natural.
What can you say about Darren. Well, for starters, he had such a great personality and energy around him, I would be happy to have him for my son in law. I know these two will be blissfully happy together.

Comic Book Shoes – A DIY Project

Looking for a fun and cool way to spend your Sunday! Well grab your comics an x-acto knife, and a bottle of glue. I cut out some images and words from some of the comics I got from Free Comic Book Day at Happy Harbor comics (I wasnt going to cut up any of the regular issues). Then I mixed plain white glue with water to thin it out a little bit, then started buttering up my shoe and placing and trimming the images to fit. It took me about 4 hours, but that was with some interruptions. They turned out awesome! Now I have to make my wife a pair with all the female super heroes.
