So you have that special piece of art, and now you need to get it framed. Who can turn to? Trident Photography of course! I know, you are saying to yourself right now “What!? He does custom framing too? I had no idea” Well exactly. That’s why I am telling you about it right now. Not only do I do custom framing, but I also can do print lamination in a variety of finishes, and drymounting of images on foamcore. So wheather it is a business presentation you need some things mounted for, a special photograph you want laminated, or a classic image you need framed, I am the go to guy. I also offer museum glass, which if you havent seen, you really need to check this stuff out. Many framers won’t even work with this stuff due to the cost, and difficulty in handling, but I custom cut the glass right here on site.

Custom Framing in Edmonton
October 28, 2009Commercial Realestate Photography
October 25, 2009
I was shooting a building for a commercial client of mine the other day, because he realized that in order to show this place off correctly, he needed the high elevation. This building was much larger than could be depicted from the front, and has an enormous paved yard on the side as well. Sometimes you just need to call in the big guns, and the 50′ mast is just that.

Canon 1D MKIV…or wait it out till the 1Ds MKIV arrives….hmmm
October 22, 2009Well Canon baits me with this swanky new camera, but now I have to decide if I am willing to wait till they release the top tier unit (the 1Ds version) or buy this one. While the 1D MKIV is certainly plenty of camera, something in the back of my mind says if you are going to spend $5-6G on this, why not spend a few more on the 1Ds. The theory being if it is as good in the low light as they say, it makes the $7500 400mm F2.8 (which is purely a luxury item, and in no way a necessity for me) replaceable with the 100-400mm F4.5-5.6. And since that lens comes in at about $1500 or so, I could easily get the body upgrade with the money saved. Yeah, in fact I would be SAVING money by buying the MKIV…..Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Edmonton Wedding Photography, Judy & Eric
October 20, 2009Here is a teaser post with a few images from the wedding for Judy and Eric, who I had the peasure of working with this past weekend. What a blast, we were teasing and laughing the whole time. You guys were a joy to shoot with, and the weather really cooperated too. The bridal party was fun and willing to do whatever it took to get the shot, you guys are very lucky to have such good friends and family. I should have a gallery populated for you soon on my website.
Onsite Construction Photography
October 6, 2009
One of my aerial clients had me come out to do some images for them from the ground level as well. I really enjoy learning about the projects that are underway while on the site. For instance I did not know there was styrofoam isulation under the pavement on the Anthony Henday. Cool! I also learned that the bin on one of the scrapers hold 50 cubic yards of dirt, and that they can work in a push/pull configuration so they are more efficient when scooping up the earth. Anyway, unless you are overly facinated by construction details like I am, I will just get to the images.

Aerial Jobsite Photography
October 5, 2009
I was in the air shooting for a few different construction companies the other day. The wind was pretty strong, and I have to admit, I was getting pretty nautious by the time I was done. The length of the flight and the constant jerking around was just too much for my poor stomach. Fortunately I learned from my last trip not to go on an empty stomach, and it wsn’t until about 3 minutes before we touched down that I started feeling woozy. I was able to get some great images of some of the largest construction sites in town though. Here are a few.

Professional Corporate Headshots
October 4, 2009
Karen needed a professional headshot to add to the corporate directory for her company, so she came by to see me. In less than an hour she was out the door with the edited file in hand. First of all, the idea was to make it match up to some of the existing shots as best as possible, so I quickly pulled out the white cyclic and by controlling the light, was able to make it a neutral grey with a small gradient. Karen was easy to work with and within minutes we had the shot needed.
Mike and Anne’s Engagement Photographs
October 2, 2009
Mike and Anne came to see me about having some engagement photos done. They will be getting married back home in NewBruswick but felt that they should have some images done here prior to the wedding. So we went out to the lake where I frequently do engagement sessions. We were fortunate that the wind had started to die down because it was a bit brisk that day. Like true models though, Mike and Anne just sucked it up and were very easy to work with. Here are some images from their session.

Edmonton Roller Derby Girls
September 25, 2009
I have been meaning to get out and shoot some images of the roller derby girls for quite some time, and I finally got the chance to do it tonight. It surprised me to see fellow photographer Buffy Goodman there as well, hitting hard and taking people out (who knew she was so tough). I was rather impressed by the crowd of people who turned out, there was literally standing room only. Even the parking lot was overflowing. I am a bit dissapointed that I was only able to watch 1 of the 3 games tonight or I would have had something more to show you. Here are a couple of E-ville’s finest in action.
